At least 5 killed and 14 injured in northwest Colombia bus accident

At least 5 people were killed in a bus accident near the village of La Chorrera, Boyaca department on Sunday.

Newspaper El Espectador reported that the accident occurred when a bus covering the route between Santa Rosa de Viterbo and Alto de Floresta.

The vehicle plunged into a 120 meter ravine near La Chorrera killing at least 4 women and 1 man, according to local media. A further 14 were severely injured, including several young children.

Rescue agencies spent hours clearing the wreckage and taking survivors to hospitals throughout the region.
