The army seized 1.5 tons of explosives as well as guns, and uniforms destined for the FARC in Arauca department, reported El Colombiano Thursday.

Authorities said that among the items they found were 42,000 rounds, 17 rifles, 7,000 electric detonators, 195 olive green uniforms, 30,000 leaflets, various tools, one truck, and various maintenance materials.

The explosive that was found — anfo – ammonium nitrate fuel oil — is very powerful and was used in the Bogota car bomb that exploded during President Juan Manuel Santos’ inauguration in August 2010.

It was reported that this material was supposed to be delivered to the FARC’s 10th, 28th, 38th, 45th and 56th Front.

The mutitions and uniforms had the symbol of the Venezualan armed forces. No one was captured during the operation.
