Army officials said that they have intelligence about an Argentine national who holds a high rank within the FARC, El Tiempo reported Tuesday.

According to intelligence gathered by the army’s 9th Brigade, Facundo Morales, alias “Camilo” or “El Argentino,” is the fifth in command in the column Teofilo Foreno and is very close to the column’s leader Oscar “El Paisa” Montero.

The inteligence was gathered in a February 4, 2010, raid at the house of “La Pilosa,” the reported girlfriend of “El Paisa.” Authorities confiscated computers and USB drives that contained information about “El Argentino.”

Morales allegedly entered Colombia legally in 2003 and joined the FARC in June of that year, according to El Tiempo.
