Englishman buys Bogota steam train for restoration

An English engineer and train enthusiast has purchased a steam locomotive in Bogota

Steve Cossey, who has kept alive a childhood love of locomotives, bought a 90-year-old train in Bogota with the intent of restoring it and renting it out for parties or other functions.

Cossey bought the number eight train that used to run from Bogota to Barbosa. The train was built in 1921 and has spent 36 years sitting idle.

Restoration on the train should be complete in seven months. Cossey is unsure if he will move to Bogota to be closer to his possession, but he has said that he doesn’t care if the train turns a profit.
