The amazing colors of Barranquilla’s carnival

by Joel Duncan February 16, 2015

The Colombian Caribbean city of Barranquilla kicked off its annual carnival extravaganza. We could publish an entire story about it, but we won’t because photos are much more fun.

Medellin-based photographer Joel Duncan went to Barranquilla and sent us these photos depicting the insane amount of colors, shapes and sizes displayed during two of the carnival’s parades, the Flower Parade, called Battalla de las Flores, and the Great Tradition Parade.

The Barranquilla Carnival is one of Colombia’s most important cultural events of the year and internationally recognized as International Cultural Heritage.

But enough talking, enjoy the photos.
