Almost 325,000 new cars sold in Colombia in 2011

by Toni Peters January 5, 2012

Car economy

A total of 324,570 new vehicles were sold in Colombia in 2011, according to data from a consulting firm.

Consulting company Econometria’s figures state that in December alone, 26,961 vehicles were sold in the country, representing a 5.5% increase on the number sold in December 2010.

This is a record figure for the final month of the year. With this trend the Automotor Committee maintains its estimate that in 2012 sales in the domestic market will surpass 300,000 vehicles yet again, due to dynamism in the Colombian economy.

In 2011, vehicle sales in the country grew by 28% compared to 2010, when 253,869 vehicles were sold.
