Mark the calendar; AfroCumbia is returning to Bogota, bring in the biggest names of Colombia’s music scene for a Afro-Colombian rhythms sure to make some booties bounce.
The night will showcase an eclectic array of musicians drawing upon folkloric and Afro-Colombian rhythms fused with modern hip hop and electronic dance influences. Promoters paint AfroCumbia Halloween as a place where Cumbia, Fandango, Champeta, Bullerengue, Bunde, Currulao, Bambazú, Aguabajo meets Hip Hop, House, Techno, Break Beats, Scratching, ska, reggae, rap, hip- hop, R&B and everyone’s having a good time.
The Colombian lineup includes ChocQuibTown, Systema Solar, and Toto La Momposina.

ChocQuibTown
Headlining the event is ChocQuibTown, a Latin Grammy Award-winning Afro-Colombian hip-hop group, originally from the Pacific coast, but formed in the city of Cali. The group’s mix of bunde, currulao, bambazú and aguabajor rhythms with urban hip hop influences offers an excellent example of the high energy performance AfroCumbia Halloween 2013 is sure to deliver.
Toto la Momposina
A folkloric musician respected for her impressive vocal range and dance moves, Toto la Momposina is sure to get hips gyrating and feet stepping as her cumbia, porro y merecumbé soaked rhythms fill the theater from the ceiling to the dance floor.
Systema Solar
An eclectic audiovisual group, Systema Solar is here to have some fun. Throw together some rap, electronic and cumbia rhythms, mix in a lot of neon lights and intergalactic space outfits and voila: Systema Solar. This group will leave party goers, if not slightly disoriented, certainly highly entertained.
