Colombian representatives Monday will tackle the issue of human rights in a discussion with the European Union in Brussels.
According to Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the dialogue aims to address issues related to the “institutional framework on human rights,” such as the strengthening of policies designed t protect vulnerable populations and guarantee rights. The representatives will also share practices that been successful in the eradication of poverty, experiences in the “fight against impunity” and information about the military justice system.
The dialogue will be led by Colombia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Patti Londoño Jaramillo and the Executive Chief for the Americas , Chris Leffler and human rights experts will also be present.
The ministry described the dialogue as “a constructive and nurturing space” for both parties, which presents an opportunity for the EU and Colombia to exchange information.
