Ten to 15 people were injured on Tuesday night during a confrontation between peasant farmers and an indigenous community in southwest Colombia.
The confrontation occurred in the town of Piendamo in the southwest Cauca department. The dispute reportedly began on Sunday over land ownership rights in the region and on Tuesday night turned violent. Local media reported between 10 and 15 people injured as a result of the confrontation and they said that the injured were all transferred to nearby hospitals.
According to reports, the local government has not clarified to whom the disputed land actually belongs, however local authorities asked the government for their help in solving the conflict.
