Teleton Colombia joins forces with an assortment of Colombian celebrities this weekend in a 27 hour live telethon to raise money for Colombia’s disabled.
Teleton Colombia is a foundation which strives to provide essential services to Colombia’s disabled via its rehabilitation centers. The centers provide comprehensive support for disabled citizens in the form of medical services, health programs, vocational training, and social support services.
However, while the foundation does receive government funding, it also relies on donations from the public.
Live from Bogota, the 27 hour fundraiser will begin on Friday March 8 at 10pm and run until 2am on Sunday March 10. The event will be hosted by famous Colombian model, Andrea Serna, and well known newscaster Felipe Arias. The two will relate the touching life stories of those who have benefited from funds raised in the past by Teleton Colombia.
The telethon will kick off with a musical performance, after which a broad lineup of celebrities will join in to help raise awareness, and money, for the worthy cause. Former Miss Colombia, Catalina Robayo, will be responsible for manning the call center and attracting donations
