South African police apprehend a Colombian man at an airport in Johannesburg with an estimated $100,000 worth of cocaine hidden in his shoes and jacket linings.
The alleged suspect, Jonathan Stiven Nieto Biscue, was disembarking a plane from Brazil when authorities stopped him and found more than six pounds of cocaine on him.
The rash of Colombian youth who have resorted to drug muling is deeply concerning. In China alone, reportedly five times as many mules have been captured compared to last year.
Nieto was held without bail because he does not have a fixed address in South Africa and will remain in a Johannesburg jail until the following hearing which is scheduled for March 28th.
