Ex Colombian Congressman Yidis Medina is to sue the government for over $4.5 million, claiming to be the victim of wiretapping, local media sources reported.
Colombian newspaper El Espectador reported that the ex-congresswomen, famous for her bribery scandal known as “Yidispolitica” is going to sue the government for up to $4.5 million dollars, claiming that she is the victim of a wiretapping scandal involving ex-president Alvaro Uribe.
Medina was quoted by RCN news channel saying that “the claim could reach up to [$4.5 million]. I hope that the judges who are reviewing the case come to a good decision.”
Medina was recently imprisoned in the Buen Pastor prison before she was transferred to serve 43 months under house arrest after her involvement in the Yidispolitica scandal, where she came clean about accepting a bribe from the then president Alvaro Uribe concerning Uribe’s ability to be reelected.
