Colombia will open a new practice field in August for its national soccer team with sponsorship from Canadian oil company Pacific Rubiales, reported local media Wednesday.
According to reports, Pacific Rubiales and Colombian Football Federation (Colfutbol) president Luis Bedoya said the site would be ready in August.
The statement came during a presentation announcing the oil company as the team’s new sponsor. Pacific Rubiales is the largest privately owned energy company in Colombia.
Bedoya said progress was moving quickly on the six hector site, which will include a hotel, restaurant, health center, offices, press center, auditorium and two soccer fields.
The project is Located in Bogota’s Simon Bolivar Park and has an estimated cost of $10 billion. Bedoya said the International Federation of Association Football contributed $450,000 and the rest was covered by Colfutbol and its sponsors.
