Armed clashes between the Colombian military and the FARC displaced 72 families in the western Colombian department of Cauca, Radio Caracol reported Monday.
Fighting occurred in the rural area of Miranda, in the mountainous region of Marmolera, which is a stronghold of the sixth front of the FARC.
The displaced families have been forced to move to the area known as “Calandaima,” an hour on foot from Miranda, where a shelter has been set up to receive the victims.
