Shakira takes world domination one step further, attracting the attention of an Oscar-nominated Bollywood director.
With her hip-shaking and belly-dancing skills firmly in place, the Colombian superstar reckons she’s perfect for the eponymous lead role in “Desire,” a upcoming movie project by director Enamul Karim Nirjhar.
She doesn’t plan to stop at acting, for according to U.S. news site The Huffington Post, she will also record the film’s soundtrack with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Nirjhar, whose Bangladeshi movie “Aha!” was nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 81st Academy Awards, said, “Shakira has been talking with our musical director Debajyoti Mishra and we hope that this will be an interesting challenge. We asked her to perform one of the roles and she showed interest.”
The film will be recorded on location in Scotland and London.
