The chairman of Colombia’s central bank has said for the time being he does not foresee the United States financial crisis in the United States impeding economic growth.
In an interview with Caracol Radio, chairman Jose Dario Uribe said “If the economy has zero growth in 2012, Colombia, the [Latin American] region and Asia are defending themselves well.
“If there is a problem and there is a crash, the economy of the United States will be affected [which] at the same time affects the world economy. Asia and the whole of Asia will be affected by international prices which we export which are basic products.”
Uribe also said that warnings should be put in place if there was speculation on the dollar.
