Colombia has officially enacted a law that gives a diplomatic passports to members of congress, Caracol Radio reported Wednesday.
The controversial law bestows diplomatic status and passports on all 268 congress persons. The proponent of this law, Conservative Party Senator Carlos Emiro Barriga, said this is to stop legislators having to pay certain taxes and gives them certain privileges when they travel abroad.
