Colombia’s rainy season has claimed the lives of 35 people and is currently affecting almost 150,000 others across the country, according to a report by Caracol Radio.
According to the report, over 25,000 homes are presently being affected and 166 have already been destroyed by the flooding, which began in September.
The risk management department of the Colombian government has indicated that thunder storms and powerful winds are to hit the archipelago of San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina in the next 48 hours.
This years rainy season has so far been less severe than that of 2010, when 400 Colombians lost their lives and 2 million people were affected.
