Cycling champion Nairo Quintana is set to lead the Colombian team as he defends his title at this year’s Tour de L’Avenir in France.
His name topped the list released on Wednesday by team Colombia es Pasion-472. He will be joined by Esteban Chavez, Sebastian Salazar, Mikael Rodriguez, William Valencia and Alexis Camacho.
The tour, which will take place from September 4-11, is the most important date on the European under-23 road racing calendar and is contested by national teams.
Last year, Quintana took the title by winning the last stage to finish one minute 44 seconds ahead of Team USA’s Andrew Talansky. The Colombian team also won the team title, finishing 14 minutes ahead of nearest rivals Spain.
