Civil Aeronautics presented the Air Navigation Plan Colombia, a tactical guideline for the development of Colombian air travel through 2032, reported El Espectador.
The director of Air Navigation Services Thursday announced the release of the document, which details an optimal action plan for Colombian civil aeronautics.
The plan, which took over three years to finish, is organized into three volumes: optimal requirements, facilities and regulation.
The strategy includes an approximate investment of $852 million into air navigation and airport improvements between 2012 and 2014. According to Caracol Radio, the first funds will be utilized to construct a new control tower at Bogota’s El Dorado Airport.
Key to the development of the airline industry is the incorporation of cutting edge technologies, including the use of satellite navigation and radar multilateration for surveillance.
The goal, according to the director, is for the industry to increase its connectivity, competitiveness and air mobility in order to meet the growing demand for air transportation.
