Colombian authorities have arrested four men in the city of Cartagena who were in possession of 811 kg of cocaine, El Espectador reported Wednesday.
The cocaine was found in a boat named “Linda Melodia” which was being stored in a garage in the coastal city. Authorities said the men were planning to use the boat to traffic the drugs, which have an estimated value of more than $20 million on the international market.
The men were detained after a joint operation carried out by marines, members of the Cartagena Coast Guard and investigators from the Office of the Prosecutor General.
This is the second large seizure in the coastal area in the last week, after the Colombian navy seized a vessel carrying 130 lbs of cocaine on its way to Belize. One of the men arrested in that incident was an U.S. citizen.
