Yale University will be the site of a conference for Colombian students held by student organization PorColombia in April.
The conference, which is titled “New Horizons for Progress,” takes place April 2 and 3.
Event organizer and PorColombia member, Angela Londono, told Colombia Reports that “people will be excited about all of the panels.”
According to the third year Yale student, the conference consists of three panel discussions covering topics of economic opportunities and political change, drug trafficking and democratic security, and Colombian culture and conflict.
A list of ten guest speakers including Colombian journalist Hollman Morris — winner of the Nuremberg International Human Rights Award for 2011 — and former Colombian Minister of Education, Cecilia Maria Valez, can be seen on the PorColombia website.
The event is expected to attract 150 to 200 attendees and is open to all who are interested. Registration will take place right up until the commencement of the conference.
