Fans of Colombia’s superstar James Rodriguez invaded the official team shops of Real Madrid’s stadium, scooping-up 900 James-10 jerseys in just one hour, Colombian media reported on Wednesday.
Even though a single shirt cost $137, a total of 900 were sold within an hour, earning Real Madrid $123,533 just from sales at the official stores at the Madrid stadium.
The flood of fans averaged 80 people per queue in the five shops, according to Colombia’s Antena 2 radio.
Following a presentation of James Rodriguez to thousands of screaming fans in Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium, in which the Colombian phenom posed for cameras between endless bouts of kicking soccer balls into the crowd, everybody wanted to get their hands on number 10’s jersey.

The ‘Jamesmania’ continued after the center of attention left the stadium, as long lines gathered in front of the official shops, everyone of them wanting to invest in a brand new James-jersey, according to Colombia’s El Tiempo newspaper.
The Colombian player was sold to Real Madrid from AS Monaco at the price of $114 million.
