Writers, musicians, filmmakers, actors and comedians from around the world will visit Colombia Caribbean coast next month for the sixth annual Barranquilla Art Carnival.
Actors, singers and musicians will perform shows based on historical events, in which contemporary political life and its personalities will be mocked in satirical speeches and songs.
Filmmakers will present their works at screenings and and forums of international directors will take place.
There will also be a children’s corner where youngsters can play and learn with special guests including writer Celso Roman, Colombia’s youngest magician, 5-year-old James Giraldo and the kids of Latin Swing, among others.
A spokesperson said the carnival was “designed to pay homage to the greatest creators, to understand their life and work and study their creative processes.”
The event takes place from February 8 to 12. For more information, visit the festival website.
