A group of 34 Colombian software and digital content companies are taking part in a Silicon Valley business summit to establish ties with American partners.
The “Silicon Valley Business Networking 2011” event will allow Colombian entrepreneurs to pitch software, digital animation, video games, online marketing, and mobile phone apps to their American counterparts.
Colombian businesses will meet with companies like Google, Apple and Oracle in order to learn how those companies work in the industry and get advice on how to find potential clients and projects.
The summit was organized by Proexport Colombia – a body which promotes international tourism, foreign investment and non-traditional Colombian exports. It’s taking place at the Marriott Hotel in Santa Clara, California, from December 7 to 9.
Of the 80 participating companies in the summit, 15 were part of a training project led by Proexport, Bogota’s Chamber of Commerce and a Silicon Valley consulting group, which was designed to generate the necessary skills to successfully enter the U.S. market.
