30 minors escape from Bogota rehab center

by Jim Glade May 2, 2011

Colombia Reports - captured

Thirty minors have broken out of a juvenile rehabilitation center in southern Bogota, Caracol TV reported Monday.

The youths waited until their professors were away for a moment, and escaped through windows on the roof of the complex. The escapees then proceeded to demand entry and passage through neighboring residences in order to complete their getaway.

While making their escape, the juveniles caused havoc in a preschool classroom, and evidence of alcohol and tobacco use was found at the scene.

An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
