Colombia can count on Spain’s support: Prince Felipe

Spanish Prince Felipe de Borbón said that terrorism in Colombia is unjustifiable. He offered in the name of the Spanish government to help Colombia fight against it.

The Prince, in Colombia for a four day whirlwind visit, praised the Colombian government for it’s “democratic fortitude and moral superiority”.

“In the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and the fight for stronger democratic values, [Colombia] can always count on strong support from Spain, ” he said.

Prince Felipe announced on behalf of President Alvaro Uribe that from June the Colombian government will pay out US$100 million in reparation to 12 thousand victims of violence in Colombia.

Carlos Rodado Noriega Colombian ambassador in Spain told El Espectador that the European nation maybe willing to help Colombia in its Free Trade Agreement negotiations with the United States.
