Assistant of judge who released ‘El Indio’ found murdered

The assistant of the judge who ordered the release of ‘El Indio’, the
alleged right hand man of drug king pin Don Mario, was found murdered
just outside Bogota.

The body of law student Diana Patricia Benitez Limenez was found two weeks ago already, but was not confirmed to be the assistant of judge Luis Eduardo Beltran until Friday.

The woman had been found had received several blows, forensic investigators told Canal Caracol.

Both her mother and a representative of the union for legal workers confirmed the woman was the assistant of the judge who controversially set free ‘El Indio’ and a second alleged partner of ‘Don Mario’.

When reporters of the television station found him, the judge was drunk and said he wasn’t concerned about the Prosecutor General’s investigation against him. “I have not committed any crime,” the judge said. He did not comment on the death of his assistant.

John Freddy ‘El Indio’ Manco Torres and businessman Juan Felipe Sierra are not just accused of being part of the drug trafficking organization of ‘Don Mario’. The two men are
implicated in the corruption case against Guillermo Valencia Cossio, former Medellin director of
prosecution and brother of Interior and Justice Minister Fabio Valencia Cossio.
