Seven main Colombian roadways have been closed off due to prolonged inclement weather conditions, Caracol Radio reported Friday.
A number of other routes are currently in a condition of restricted access, according to authorities. Director of Transit and Transport Rodolfo Palomino said that altogether at least 10 national routes have been either fully or partially closed as a result of weather conditions.
Closed or restricted roadways include the Bogota-Girardot route, the Medellin-Quibdo route, and the Risaralda-Choco route, among others.
Weather conditions in Colombia have caused 69 deaths thus far this year, of those 45 in the month of April, according to W Radio, and the heavy rains will likely extend into May.
