Police have announced the arrest of 17 alleged members of drug gang “La Oficina de Envigado” in raids in the north of Medellin.

The men, aged 17-35, will face charges of murder, forced displacement, extortion, and drug trafficking.

According to police, they took their orders directly from alias “Sebastian”, one of La Oficina’s top men.

The arrests followed a 19-month investigation by police and prosecutors.

Police have now arrested 502 people with alleged links to gangs and organized crime in the Medellin metropolitan area this year.
