Former Green Party presidential candidate Antanas Mockus has ruled himself out of the running to be the next mayor of Bogota, El Espectador reported Tuesday.
The politician, who has twice held the position of Bogota mayor, reached the run-off round in 2010’s presidential election, but was beaten by a large margin by Juan Manuel Santos.
Mockus has now announced his support for the candidacy of Enrique Peñalosa, another former mayor of the capital, who ran against him for the Green Party nomination but then supported his presidential campaign.
