Mining Ministry gives Biomax green light to expand fuel distribution network

Colombia’s Ministry of Mining and Energy has permitted Biomax increase its activities as a wholesale distributor of petroleum-derived liquid fuel, Colombia media reported Friday.

The ministry has authorized Biomax to supply plants in Giron in the Santander department, La Dorada in Caldas department and Medellin, the capital of Antioquia department, which enables the company to widen its distribution network.

WIth this approval, Biomax can commence new investment projects in these regions. It hopes that the new supply plants will create new jobs in these areas

In February the company acquired 93.88% of the shares of competitor Brio de Colombia; as a result Biomax now has 700 points of sale. Biomax operates gas stations and small-scale and large-scale distribution of fuel by land and by air.
