FARC rebels attack ambulance

Guerrillas of Colombia’s largest rebel group FARC attacked an ambulance in the north of Antioquia Monday after the vehicle ignored a stop sign, authorities say.

The incident happened on the road between Medellin and the coastal town of Turbo in the Uraba region and left one nurse injured.

The nurse was admitted to a nearby hospital after she was hit by two guerrilla bullets.

The Colombian government on a regular basis denounced the guerrillas’ attacks on medical personnel.
