Antioquia theater groups take the stage in Medellin

Theater groups from the department of Antioquia take the stage in Medellin as part of a traveling theater festival, performing for free from November 16 through 20.

As part of “Antioquia Lives Theater” 2011, 20 different theater groups from all over the region will be performing at the Porfirio Barba Jacob Theater. All performances are absolutely free to attend, and include wild theater shows and theatrical lectures.

“Antioquia Lives Theater will travel the region…to present to the public current dramatic arts, stimulate creation, and facilitate meeting and learning spaces,” the festival promises.

Tonight, the last performance of the evening begins at 8PM, and will be put on by the group Momo Teatro. On Thursday and Friday, the festival day lasts a full 12 hours, from 8AM until 8PM.

On Saturday, November 19, the festival begins at 8AM and has a closing lecture that begins at 9:15PM. The event comes to a dramatic end on Sunday, November 20 at 2:30PM.
