Colombia, Japan FTA talks to start this week: Santos

Negotiations for a free trade agreement between Colombia and Japan to start this week, said Colombia’s President Juan Manuel Santos.

Claudia Sanmiguel, subdirector of the Colombia Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told Colombia Reports “This is very good news for the future of relations [between the two countries].”

Colombia and Japan already have a Investment Promotion and Reciprocal Protection Agreement which President Santos and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda signed in September.
