Former Bogota mayor Enrique Peñalosa has a comfortable lead in a poll released Sunday ahead of the capital’s local elections in October.
The poll, carried out by Datexco for newspaper El Tiempo and W Radio, showed that Peñalosa received the support of 24.8 percent of the interviewees.
The former mayor was followed at a distance by former leftist senator Gustavo Petro, who received the support of 12.7 percent.
Third in the poll was independent candidate Gina Parody, with 9.4%, followed by Carlos Galan of Cambio Radical and David Luna of the Liberal Party who both received the support of 7.2 percent of the interviewees.
The El Tiempo / W Radio poll showed similar results as those of a poll held two weeks ago by radio and television network RCN and weekly Semana.
