A local winemaker is once again opening his doors to the public as part of a small wine and Italian food festival in a village just outside Medellin.
The third edition of the festival will be held on Sunday in the tranquil surroundings of Perico, Santa Elena, a mountainous village in the department of Antioquia.
In addition to the expansive array of locally made fruit wine, the event offers visitors all-you-can-eat (until 9pm) rustic Italian cuisine and home-brewed Golden Stag Summer Ale.
Wine producer Patrick Collins announced that wild blackcurrants and blackberries, hand-picked from the surrounding forests, will be new additions to the menu of exotic fruit wines including lulo, mora and tree tomato.
Guests can compete in badminton and darts tournaments throughout the day while local jazz outfit La Guanena will provide the evening’s entertainment.
Tickets for the event are available for COP 40,000 on the day or 35,000 in advance. Those in a group of five can get a discount whereby each ticket is 30,000.
Garden space is provided for free camping.
The festival is from 2pm until 11pm.
