Williams tennis sisters happy to be in Colombia

U.S. tennis sisters Serena and Venus Williams are happy to be in Colombia for an exhibition match to be played on Wednesday in Medellin.

The Williams sisters will be up against tough competition – each other.

The sister act spoke to press in Bogota Monday saying, “We are going to be playing hard and giving you guys a great show.”

The Wednesday match will be the first game that Serena has played since she lost the U.S. open final two months ago to Australian Samantha Stosur.

Venus, who has fallen to no.103 in the rankings, will be the underdog in the sister vs. sister event.

She is hoping to make a comeback against her sister and former number one Serena. She said, “My opponent tomorrow night is definitely one of my biggest challenges. I hope maybe she doesn’t play as well as normal so I can have a win.”

Serena is number 12 in the rankings but is gearing up for a more intense year in 2012, in which she hopes to move up to the top five.

After their match in Medellin, the sisters will go to Italy to play Francesca Schiavone and Flavia Pennetta in Milan on December 3.
