Uribe meets Pope Benedict XVI

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe met with Pope Benedict XVI Thursday on a visit to the Vatican that’s part of the President’s small European tour.

According to the Vatican, Uribe and the Pope discussed Colombia’s fight against drug trafficking and the collaboration of the Church and the State to work towards peace in the south American country.

The meeting lasted half an hour and was the third Uribe had with the Catholic Church’s highest clergy.
