Uribe in hospital after horse kick

Colombia’s former President Alvaro Uribe was taken to hospital Tuesday after a horse kicked him in the chest.

The incident happened in Llanogrande, a rural area outside of Medellin where Uribe has a farmhouse.

According to local media, Uribe fell off the horse that then kicked him in the chest.

A doctor at the hospital where Uribe was taken to told newspaper El Espectador the former head of state was treated for fractured ribs, but was in good condition. However, the doctors advised him to rest and stay at home for a few days.
