A caravan from the Colombian Ministry of Tourism will tour Colombia from Saturday, August 27 to Saturday, September 3 to promote travel to the Colombian island of San Andres.
The caravan plans to stop in Bogota, Medellin and Cali, RCN Radio reported Wednesday.
With the participation of the San Andres and Providencia Hotel Association (ASHOTEL) and Copa Airlines, the caravan will “present tourism offerings, cuisine, and traditional music of the island.”
San Andres is the largest volcanic island in a Colombian archipelago in the Caribbean Sea, to the east of Nicaragua.
The island is known for its pristine beaches and preserved ecosystem; it was declared a UNESCO Biosphere reserve in 2000.
