There were no surprises in the Colombian Liga Postobon on Sunday, as Deportes Tolima, Atletico Huila and La Equidad all collected three points.
Currently in second place, Deportes Tolima needed a win to reduce the gap with leaders Santa Fe to four points.
The Ibague outfit visited Real Cartagena and needed just nine minutes for Rodrigo Marangoni to open the scoring, and Wilder Medina added a second on the half hour.
Jorge Ramos scored back for Cartagena just after the break but late goals from Jorge Perlaza and Fernando Cardenas set the final score to 1-4.
Atletico Huila hosted Deportes Quindio and for a long time it looked like the current numbers three were going to drop points. However, an own goal from Diego Martinez in the 85th minute handed the Neiva-based team a fortunate victory.
Fourth-placed La Equidad visited Envigado and had its best spell in the ten minutes after the hour mark with goals from Carlos Renteria and John Viafara. Fernando Oliveira got a late consolation goal for Envigado.
La Equidad had only eight players left on the pitch at full time as Viafara, Hugo Soto and Dager Palacios were all sent off in the last part of the second half.
In Sunday’s other games, Boyaca Chico defeated reigning champions Junior 1-0, Independiente Medellin drew 1-1 with Deportivo Pereira and Millonarios earned a 1-2 win at Cortulua.
Currently on course for a spot in the next round are Santa Fe, Tolima, Huila, La Equidad, Once Caldas, Quindio, Atletico Nacional and Cucuta Deportivo.
