Superior Council to investigate judge who ordered release ‘El Indio’

The Disciplinary chamber of Colombia’s Superior Council announced
Wednesday it will investigate the judge who ordered the release of
alleged members of ‘Don Mario’s’ drug trafficking organization.

The judge Tuesday ordered the release of ‘El Indio’, accused to being ‘Don Mario’s’ right hand man and that of businessman Juan Felipe Sierra. The two men are
also implicated in the corruption case against former Medellin director of
prosecution Guillermo Valencia Cossio, brother of the current Interior and Justice Minister.

Prosecutor general Mario Iguaran objected the release of the two crucial witnesses and alleged top criminals and asked the judicial council to start an investigation.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is investigating the effects of the release on the case against Valencia Cossio.
