Spirit Airlines resumes Colombia service after strike

Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines on Thursday announced the end of a five-day strike that affected, amongst others, flights to and from Colombia.

The airline reportedly reached an agreement with its pilots on Wednesday, and flights are due to resume Friday.

The strike affected around 150 flights per day to 40 destinations, including various Colombian cities.

The airline’s destinations in Colombia are Bogota, Armenia, Barranquilla, Cartagena and Medellin.

Spirit transports some 16,000 passengers each day, predominantly between the U.S. and Latin America and the Caribbean.
