Police revealed as ‘Los Paisas’ gang members

Seventeen members of the “Los Paisas” drug trafficking gang were captured in two raids in Medellin and Cali, El Heraldo reported Friday.

Among those arrested were six members of state security agencies, including two police officers and two former officers.

Colonel Pedro Franco, commander of the operation, said it was very satisfying to capture the criminal police officers, adding that “we will not have mercy for anyone.”

The 17 detainees were taken on Thursday morning to Monteria in the Cordoba department for security reasons and to determine the charges against them.

Details on the criminal cases in which the “Los Paisa” members were involved have not yet been revealed.
