North Colombia grenade blast kills 1, injures 13

A woman was killed and 13 people injured in a grenade explosion Monday in the northeast of the department of Antioquia.

The 47-year-old died at the scene, a shop in Puerto Berrio. Six of those injured in the explosion were taken by helicopter to the department’s capital, Medellin, to receive medical treatment.

The remaining seven injured people, two of whom were minors, were taken to local medical centers.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the attack, but have so far denied the possibility that it was a terrorist attack.
