Colombian police and military forces have captured more members of “Los Urabeños,” the neo-paramilitary group that shut down large parts of the country last week.
Four allegeds militants were detained in the town of Planeta Rica in the northern department of Cordoba, one aged just 17.
They are accused of manufacturing and trafficking drugs, carrying illegal weapons, recruiting others into the organization and taking part in last week’s “armed strike” — a Colombian term referring to the forced shutdown of businesses and transport under threat of violence.
Another two suspected neo-paramilitaries were captured in the Cordoban town of Montelibano.
Police said Tuesday that the situation in northern Colombia had returned to normal following the armed strike imposed by Los Urabeños last Wednesday.
