Members of new paramilitary organization arrested

Colombian authorities apprehended Monday 22 alleged members of paramilitary ‘Cuchillo’s’ army, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.

The arrest operations took place in the towns of Villavicencio, Acacias, San Martin, Puerto Lopez, Puerto Gaitan, Puerto Concordia, San Carlos de Guaroa, and Puerto Lleras in the department of Meta.

Erpac is commanded by Pedro Oliverio Guerrero, also known as ‘Cuchillo, and is suspected of having 1,100 troops who smuggle drugs and weapons in the departments of Guaviare, Vichada, and Meta.

Guerrero, a former member of the Centaur Bloc of paramilitary organization AUC, became the capo of drug trafficking routes in the eastern plains of the country after he killed his boss, paramilitary Miguel Arroyave. Colombian authorities are offering a 5 billion peso reward for information leading to Guerrero’s arrest.
