Medellin’s Isis clinic claims new FARC logo is causing drop in visitors

A Medellin plastic surgery clinic with the same name as terrorist group ISIS has claimed the new logo of demobilized guerrilla group FARC is hurting its business.

In an interview with local media, the CEO of the medical facility accused the former guerrillas of plagiarism and claimed that the hospital is suffering the consequences of the similar logos as “some believe visiting the institution could pose a risk.”

The fact that the private beauty clinic has the same name as the world’s most feared terrorist group was ignored by both the hospital and the media.

Spanish-language media generally refer to ISIS as EI.

FARC leader Timoleon Jimenez, better known as “Timochenko,” had earlier said that the logo had come from low-budget image bank Shutterstock.

An image search on Google indicated the logo is available in multiple variations on several online image banks, indicating the hospital either falsely claimed it had registered the logo or has unduly registered the design as their property.

Available logos similar to the one used by both the FARC and Isis.

Opponents of the peace process had earlier also accused the FARC of plagiarism after the guerrillas-turned-politicians’ logo proved similar to that of an Italian health provider.
