Medellin street vendors receive English training

A group of 83 street vendors who operate in Medellin’s tourist areas will receive a certificate in conversational English on Tuesday, says a press release from the city.

The vendors has successfully completed the first level of English conversation class with 40 hours of teaching.

So far the city has provided English training to 377 vendors through the Merchants with Opportunities Program.

Training in a second language is one of the benefits for those traders who are part of this program.

The city held a ceremony at 10AM on Tuesday at the Museum of Antioquia to present the participants with their certificates.
